The Summit SWCD believes in “Teaching the Teachers” and providing them with the tools they need to go back to their classroom, whether it is indoors or outdoors, and educate and inspire students, about the importance of soil and water in the natural world.  The District partners with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Summit County communities, and other educational partners to host educator workshops, using the Project Wet, Wild, Wild Aquatic, and Growing Up Wild guides, which align with the State of Ohio standards and curriculum and include an array of outdoor activities. Local access to community parks, Summit Metro Parks, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the Cuyahoga River and its tributaries, provides us with ample opportunities to integrate the wonders of the natural world into our programs.
